Happy Mother's Day!

This is an older picture, but it's always been one of my very favorites of Child and I because this was taken on the same nature path where Husband and I were married. And of course you know the rest........
first comes the love, then comes the marriage, and shortly thereafter came the baby and the baby carriage!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers, Grandmothers,
Mothers-to-Be, and Caretakers!

  4. Sorry, my comment isn't related to mothers day though I hope you had a great one! On your sidebar under recently purchased you had a navy and white stripe maxi from banana. After seeing it on your blog I bought it and it just arrived today. Would you mind sharing how you styled it? I can't decide if it just makes me look too frumpy!! It clearly needs something fitted on top. I know my husband is going to hate it but I just can't stay away from stripes!!

    1. Hi Carrie! I wish I could tell you! Unfortunately, after a week of waiting with no movement, BR cancelled my order! Boo! They claimed they were out of stock, but now I see they have all sizes available on the website. I may just have to re-order now.
I tell you what I was envisioning in my head though--- I was thinking it would look good with a plain white or navy fitted tee, worn tucked in. Or maybe a fitted tank with a denim jacket. Maybe if I was bold, a fitted navy striped tee or tank with a cardi. But you're right I definitely see it with something fitted on top. And something more understated like a soild colored top (maybe in coral or kelly green?) since the stripes are a lot of look.

Now I'll ask you a question-- how was the fit? When I was ordering, I debated between a sz.2 and 4. I take a sz. 2 in J Crew skirts and pants, but I have an undefined waist, and was worried the sz. 2 might be too tight, and thought the sz. 4 might give more wiggle room or length. I just might reorder, so your input would help!

  5. Crazy! You know when I ordered this skirt the only size left was a size 6 (my size) and it was 40% off so i took it as serendipity. But as you mentioned, they are fully re-stocked in all sizes now! So weird...

The skirt is quite full and there's a fair amount of gathering at the waistband that makes it "poof" just a little bit. I'm not so crazy about that...I'm typically a size 6 (I'm an athletic pear, I'll get size 4 for some pants/skirts at jcrewfactory, boden pants don't fit me well. The size 6 allowed me to get a couple of fingers in at the waist making me think I could have possibly squeezed into a 4 but then I would be afraid I would really create even more "poof" which I do not want!! I hope that makes sense and helps you in someway. Ordering online even with these size charts is always a guess!!

I'd love to hear your thoughts! That said, please remember to be kind, and don't say anything your mother would not approve of!
