OOTD: 2/14/13 -Sick of sick

Ok, not so bad for Valentine's Day. I could have tried harder but to be honest, the reason I didn't is because I was sick. Again. Apparently I've been sick for a while now and didn't know it (or at least didn't know how bad off I was.) It seems I have walking pneumonia, and have probably had it ever since our holiday trip to Las Vegas. Awesome, right?

See, I rarely get sick. If I miss one day of work a year, that's a lot. But whatever hit me back in January on the trip just seemed to be lingering. On vacation I was sick, super sick (I thought it was the flu), but then I seemed to get better. But I still had a lingering cough that wouldn't go away. Then 2 weeks later I got hit with another round of fever, body aches, chills, fatigue, ect...... Then I got better for about a week or so, and then another round of illness. And this has been happening off and on every 2 weeks now ever since we got back from our trip.  I'll add that even during times of 'wellness' I've had a pretty pronounced 'wet' cough too--bad enough to induce the gag reflex.

At first, I just thought I was getting cold after cold. Child would come home from school, smear snotties all over me, and I thought that was the cause. I'd go to work and would be fine as long as I took cough medicine. I even exercised daily with no problems (well, maybe a bit more coughing than usual). But I was still continuing to get fevers and body aches about every 2 weeks that would last for a day or two then go away.

So after this latest bout of fever, aches, and chills, I finally got it checked out and it turns out I have a mild case of pneumonia. It's usually called walking pneumonia because it doesn't require hospitalization, the person can usually manage daily activities, and depending on the case the person may not even know they have it. Yup. That's me. I'm on a course of antibiotics now, and hopefully I can finally get rid of this lingering sickness once and for all. Which would be nice, because I'm truly sick of being sick.

On another note, you look really lovely and that skirt is very flattering on you.

  3. if you do not remember, that is what killed Jim Henson (muppet creator)- a sneaky illness, so lucky that you got it checked out and treated.
