2nd Blogiversary!

Another year of blogging has come and gone already! Once again, I'd like to say a very sincere "Thank-You" to all my readers; to those who have been with me from the beginning, and to those new friends I've gained along the way.
This blog has always been (and still is) one of my very favorite moments of "me time" everyday. I feel like it's a refuge that is entirely mine. I'm not required (or feel the need) to share this space with Husband, Child, family or work. It's an indulgence that is entirely my own.

And it's allowed me to do something that I love that never thought I'd get to do again after college: write.  Now I've never, ever claimed that I am a good writer (or even a mediocre one). But I still enjoy it. And true, since this is 'just' a fashion blog I'm obviously not getting into any deep philosophical discussions or pushing the limits of creative writing in my daily outfit posts. But I was once told that any type of writing is good for the individual. I know it's good for me. Cathartic. Soothing. A comforting place to hide from the real world.

Now that I've done this for two years, I can look back and see change, growth,  development in articulation (hopefully). I can also see mistakes, blunders, and words ill chosen. And I wouldn't trade it for anything. In my daily interactions I've learned to pause and think before I speak--because real life doesn't have a delete button. And I've learned to make the attempt to be more diplomatic, less blunt, and less judgmental in my conversations with others. Writing my words here has made me more aware of the words I speak in real life. So even though this is 'just a vain fashion blog,' it's been both a haven and a learning tool for me--the most useful tool I've come across in a long time.

And so on my 2nd Blogiversary thought I'd include a few quotes about writing
(because even though I'm writing about fashion, it's still writing and therefore worthwhile):

“Writing is like sex. First you do it for love, then you do it for a few close friends, and then you do it for money.”
-Virginia Woolf

“I hate writing, I love having written.”
-Dorothy Parker

“Perhaps I write for no one. Perhaps for the same person children are writing for when they scrawl their names in the snow.”
-Margaret Atwood

“Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.”
-Cyril Connolly

“How do I know what I think until I see what I say?”
-E.M. Forster

Once again, thank-you to all my readers!
Thank-you for supporting, sharing in, and being part of my comforting haven for writing!

    1. Thanks BFF! The good thing about blogging is as long as it's still fun, it never feels like work. But looking back at 2 years, I definitely have had a lot to say!

    1. Thanks KnitYarns! Yes, the consistency thing...sometimes I wonder if I should cut back in weekly posts because there can't possibly be people who want to hear from me daily!

    1. Thanks WWM! I know--2 years is a lot in blogging, you know like dog years or something? They should devise an anniversary gift guide for the blog years, like they do for weddings, like 1 year is silver, 2 years is gold, 3 years is platinum.....

    1. Thanks Stine! If you laugh, than that's the goal. I often wonder if it translates well when I "try" to be funny--but it must work for at least some! ;)

I'd love to hear your thoughts! That said, please remember to be kind, and don't say anything your mother would not approve of!

5. Comments correcting grammar or spelling— People, this is a blog about fashion that is just for fun, not a rigorously proofread academic endeavor. I try to publish a post every day and at that rate, I don’t have the time to pour over each and every sentence. There are going to be errors that slip through the cracks. If you can't tollerate or see above the minor grammatical errors that are bound to occur from time to time--Don't Read My Blog.

That said, I do read each and every comment and appreciate the time taken to comment. I’ll try to get back to everyone’s comments, but if I don’t, please know that I have read and appreciate your thoughts!
