See, I told you. This one is worse. Knowing it was Valentine's Day, and I was going to have to spend the day at work, I went to my closet looking for the most sickeningly sweet, overly girlie Valentine's outfit I could muster. The only thing that could have made this worse is if I had worn ruffles (thank-goodness I'm not a fan and don't have much in the way of ruffles in my closet).
Still, it's pretty bad. And it's on purpose. Sometimes we have to be able to laugh at ourselves (and the holiday), right? The skirt is bright enough on it's own, but paired with the orange-ish/red LEC cardi it's blinding. But I do love this skirt. It's the J Crew Factory version of the Double-Serge Cotton pencil, and it is quite nice. I think it's an inch shorter than the retail version, but the length still works for me. Otherwise, the fit and fabric are just as nice. No quality issues on this particular factory item. Unlined--just like the retail version too. And they aren't kidding when they call it 'Neon Rose.' The thing is bright. But I'm cool with that. The college where I teach doesn't have a dress code, so if others can wear gaudy Hawaiian shirts and flip flops, I can wear a neon pencil skirt.
I had several students comment that I looked quite festive. Just what I was going for ;)
