OOTD: 10/14/11 -Lands' End Cascade Drape Cardi

Cardi: Lands End Blissful Knits Cascade Drape Cardi, sz. XS
Tee: Lands End Canvas Scoopneck Tank, sz. XS
Pants: Talbots Signature Fit Crops, sz.2
Shoes: Cole Haan
Bag: J Crew Lexi Tote

L-O-V-E this cardi. I loved it so much, when it arrived in the mail last Friday, I changed my outfit so I could wear it for the rest of the day. I've never had a drapey open cardi like this before, so I may be gushing about a common place thing here, but seriously how comfy. I have about a bazillion cardis in my closet, but they're all very basic v-neck or crew neck in the classic button-up style. The open front and looser drape was a new thing for me. And now I'm wondering why I've never ventured to try a cardi like this before. This is so easy to wear. And despite it being the epitome of comfort, I felt very pulled together when wearing it. Husband even commented on how nice it looked.

Lands' End apparently has a whole line in this 'blissful knits' fabric so I may have to check out their other items. I found the fabric to be very soft and lightweight, and seems to wear well, but it is on the sheer side (at least in this color). The whole front of the cardi was lined so the front hangs and drapes nicely, but I kind of wish the whole cardi was. Although in my warm climate, the lightness is probably a good thing.  Overall very nice. I know I've seen a similar style at J Crew, but I have a feeling this one will last longer (for a lot less, too!) but Needless to say, I went back and ordered this in two other colors. You'll probably be seeing me in these a lot on the weekends. Hey-- I'll bet this cardi will look good with all those Minnies, Pixies, and slim leg pants I'm so self-conscious about wearing too!
