I'm continuing on with the vacation pics. I packed my tripod and everything, but it's always hard to adjust to a new setting and lighting, so some of these shots may be a little blurry. This day, (Sunday I think it was?) we planned a trip to Six Flags in San Antonio. I knew it was going to be hot (98*) so I wanted something super comfortable and cool for a long day of walking around.
I have several variations of this J Crew top and in all it's versions (madras, turtle, ect.....). It is by far my favorite thing to wear all summer and you'll see me in this type of thing several more times this week. Perfect! Sleeveless, non-clingy (which is sadly necessary when its almost 100* and the sweat is rolling down. Yuck!), and verging on TMI--because I'm flat chested, no need for underpinnings for me. I wish J Crew would make tops like this again. I would buy them in bulk, and at this point I'm forced to scourer e-bay for more.
This was also the day I learned white is not a good choice for amusement parks (duh). I've mentioned in the past that white is my favorite color for summer, so it is a love/hate relationship. My shorts were so disgusting by the day was done, I almost wanted to throw them away. Sadly, the culprit of much of the ruin was my Lands' End bag :( Yeah. I'm complaining again. I swear, this vacation was a magnet for fashion related problems and malfunctions.
I was so happy with the LE suede bag in Navy I had bought last month, I jumped at the chance to grab it in another color. I thought the yellow was a perfect summery color, and ideal for the trip. Just like my navy one, I treated it with a suede leather protectant, and I thought all was fine. But for some reason, the yellow color transferred horribly all over my white shorts. I don't know what went wrong! My shorts weren't wet. The bag didn't get wet. It had been treated with the same leather protectant as my navy bag, and I had no problems with color transfer on that one. I was so sad! I got yellow dye all over my favorite pair of white shorts. That night, I tried washing my shorts in cold water with bleach, and that did get a good majority of the dye off the shorts, but there is still a visible tinge of yellow on them. Sadness! I do plan to call Lands' End about the problem to see if anything can be done, as I have much more confidence in their CS. Hopefully they have a suggestion for saving my shorts!
You should return the bag. LE has an unconditional return policy, so you shouldn't be stuck with something like that.
ReplyDeleteYou have the cutest collection of tank tops! I especially like the cottony, non-clingy ones like this fish one because like you, I'm flat chested and I'm always looking for tanks & sleeveless tops where I can go w/o bra and not have it show (sometimes necessary in Atlanta's heat & humidity).
ReplyDeleteFrancesca- I agree! It's tough to find cute tanks that don't make me look like a boy. And I hate those one's with the built in shelf bra, because those just flatten me furthur!
